Mary (after my mum's mum) and Margaret(I picked this after my dad's mum).

As in like Sister Mary Margaret?

No. I was given Mary when I was born and picked Margaret for my confirmation name. Nothing to do with Sister Mary Margaret. (I don't know who that is.) I just thought it would be nice to have both my granny and my nanny's name in my name.

That is nice. I have one granny (grace) and my wee sister has the other (rose). I was a complete eejit at my confirmation and picked the most disgusting name in the history of the planet - Theresa. I was going through a phase of being obsessed with Mother Teresa and I had this juvenile 11 year old notion that when i grew up i was going to be just like her...

Quit it, everyone complaining about their surnames...I have it worst.

My surname is 17 letters in all and double-barrel. The first part looks like it should have an E in and hasn't so nobody can spell that. The second part is an Anglicised version of the German for 'beautiful hat'...yeah, you can imagine how spellable/pronouncable THAT is. I've given up.

Tried.

Our school office is completely incompetant. Apparently, I can't change it so that I only use my second surname, because that's 'violating school policy', although they're perfectly happy to have me use only my first surname...I hate both, but I particularly hate the first one, so I'd rather stick with the second AND the first.

Believe me, I don't try and impress my surname(s) on people. They'll only get them wrong anyway.

I'm the only Fern in my school, so I tend to just put 'Fern' and my form on things. If you're not intelligent enough to work it out from that, screw you.
